'Hawks, 'Toppers, and Spartans All Winners

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The No. 3 Grand Rapids boys' basketball built an early lead and hung onto it on Tuesday night while Superior ousted Duluth Denfeld, and the Duluth Marshall girls' team routed Lakeview Christian Academy in prep basketball action Tuesday.

Division I recruit Alex Illikainen led all scorers with 20 points as the Thunderhawks held off the Greyhounds 68-66. Evan Reitter also had 15 points for Grand Rapids while Aaron Maslowski led Duluth East with 17.

Across town, it was another close game as Superior edged out Denfeld 64-62. This game was back-and-forth throughout until the Spartans pulled out the narrow win.

On the girls' side, Mary Baumgartner led the Hilltoppers with 19 points en route to their 54-25 win over Lakeview Christian Academy. Meghan Matthews added 16 points for the 'Toppers while Eva Reinertsen led the Lions with 16.
