Hibbing, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Kevin Folman hit a grand slam home run on Thursday night as the Hermantown baseball team beat International Falls 8-3 in the Section 7AA championship, earning the Hawks their first trip to the state tournament since 2005.

The Broncos beat the Hawks 2-0 in the first championship game but needed to win a second time due to the double elimination format of Minnesota section baseball playoffs.

Seeding for the MSHSL Class AA tournament will happen sometime this weekend, with Hermantown's quarterfinal game to be played on June 13 at Dick Putz Field in St. Cloud, Minn.
