Hayward's Johnson Wins WIAA Long Jump Title

La Crosse, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- Hayward junior Morgan Johnson used a leap of 18 feet, 4.75 inches on Friday afternoon to capture the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) Division II championship in the long jump at the track and field championships in La Crosse, Wis.

Johnson's jump was 3.5 inches better than that of runner-up Abby Scharbarth of Lakeland Union, who posted a mark of 18 feet, 1.25 inches.

Hayward freshman Katie Taylor was also on the podium on Friday afternoon, taking third place in the WIAA Division II shot put with a toss of 40 feet, 1 inch.
