Hermantown, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Hermantown boys' soccer team lost its leading scorer, one of its best defender, and its starting goalkeeper from last year's state tournament team, but this year's Hawks are hoping to fly again in Section 7A.

Hermantown completed the tryout portion of fall practice on Wednesday and was back on the field Thursday morning, hoping the returning players from last year's team provide the base required for another long playoff run.

"I think we just play really well together," senior captain Matt Kapszak said. "We communicate, and we work well together. We've got a lot of great passers and kids who can finish. It's a great all-around team."

Hermantown's first game in the 2014 season is scheduled for Aug. 22 at home against Providence.
