Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- It was an emotional day for the Duluth Denfeld boy's hockey team on Saturday as they retired the #4 jersey of former teammate Matt Kero, who unexpectedly passed away last August.
The Kero family was part of pregame ceremony in which Hunters head coach Kevin Smalley said a few words and presented them with a #4 jersey, the number Matt used to wear.
The #12-ranked Hunters then fell to Roseville 4-2 in their season and home opener at the Heritage Sports Center in Duluth.
