Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The Grand Rapids boy's basketball team leaned heavily on freshman Alex Illikainen on Tuesday night, and he helped lead them to a 75-63 road win over Duluth East.
Illikainen scored a team-high 27 points in the win, followed closely by senior guard Austin Pohlen, who scored 23 points.
The win is the third of the season for the Thunderhawks, who are also ranked #3 in the state of Minnesota at Class AAA.
Taylor Stafford led the Greyhounds with 28 points in the loss, dropping Duluth East's record to (1-3) this season.
