'Jacks Use Three Goal Third Period to Beat Rangers

Cloquet, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The Cloquet-Esko-Carlton girl's hockey team scored three third period goals on Thursday night to beat Forest Lake 4-0 in the Section 7AA quarterfinals.

Kelly Carlson scored the game-winning goal midway through the first period, and Alyssa Acheson earned credit for the shutout in the Lumberjacks goal.

Cloquet-Esko-Carlton now advances to the section semifinals, where they will play Grand Rapids-Greenway on Saturday afternoon.

The Duluth Northern Stars also won their Section 7AA quarterfinal game on Thursday night to advance to the other semifinal in that postseason tournament.
