Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Lakeview Christian Academy senior guard Bjorn Broman has committed to play Division I basketball at Winthrop University, he announced via Twitter on Sunday night.

"Blessed to announce I have committed to Winthrop University," Broman tweeted. "Thanks to everyone who has helped me along the way."

Winthrop was the first school to give Broman a scholarship offer, and he had also planned visits to the University of Maryland-Baltimore County and St. Francis.

Broman led the state in scoring as a junior, averaging 41.1 points per game for the Lions. He is also the younger brother of Anders Broman, the all-time leading scorer in Minnesota.
