(NNCNOW.com) --- The reigning state champion Hayward-Spooner girls' hockey team fell down a goal early but came back to rout Superior 7-1 while the Duluth Denfeld boys' hockey team edged out the Spartans 4-3 in high school hockey action on Thursday night.
The Lady 'Canes found themselves in a one-goal deficit before responding with seven unanswered goals.
In Duluth, the Hunters were up 2-0 before the Spartans mounted their comeback. No. 20 Denfeld got the last laugh though in a 4-3 win.
