Cloquet, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Cloquet-Esko-Carlton boys' hockey team will get a taste of outdoor hockey and a chance to remember their roots on Saturday when they take part in the 8th Annual Hockey Day Minnesota in Elk River.

The Lumberjacks will take on Rochester-Lourdes in the day's first contest at 10:15 a.m. CEC got in an outdoor practice this week but will have to be ready for the elements this weekend with a 70 percent chance of snow expected.

Head coach Dave Esse isn't worried about his team playing in that type of weather.

"It'll be even for both teams. The only reason we came out today to get some ice is make sure the kids equipment, Under Armour, things like that, whatever fits," said Esse.

"Maybe they'll have to move their helmet a bit or skate, socks, etc. just so they're comfortable. Other than that, we're just going to play."
