Lumberjacks Rally for the Win on Hockey Day

Elk River, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Cloquet-Esko-Carlton boys' hockey team scored four unanswered goals en route to beating Rochester-Lourdes 4-1 in the opening game of the 8th Annual Hockey Day Minnesota in Elk River on Saturday.

The Lumberjacks outshot the Eagles after two period but fell behind a goal early in the third. CEC answered with three power play goals. Ryan Lind knotted the game at one a pice for the Lumberjacks.

Just minutes later, Jack Kuhlman put the CEC ahead for good before James Newgren scored twice to seal the win.

CEC improves to (6-10-2) and will face Andover on Tuesday, Jan. 21 at 7:00 p.m.
