MIB struggles in semifinal loss

Minneapolis (Northland's NewsCenter) - Mt. Iron-Buhl's Cinderella ride at the MN State Girls Basketball Tournament hit a rough road on Friday. The Rangers shot just 17% from the floor, including hitting only one three-point shot in 23 attempts. MIB fell to Nicollet 53-22 in the Class A Semifinals.

Both teams struggled at the Target Center, as MIB trailed by just five points at halftime, 16-11. However the Rangers scored just 11 points in both halves.

Dakotah Winans led MIB in scoring with 6 points. Kathy Ostman had 4 points, and senior Charlotte Overbye fouled out with 2 points. Tailor Raymond and Kasslin Swenson each had 13 points for Nicollet.

MIB fell to (27-4) and will face Hancock for the Class A Third Place game Saturday morning. The game will be played at Concordia-St. Paul campus, beginning at 10pm.
