The Northland's three squads taking part in the MN State Boys Hockey Tournament already knew where they were playing. Xcel Energy Center is where the opening round is played. On Saturday morning, the teams found out the who and where.

In the Class AA tourney, Duluth East earned the #3 seed and will face White Bear Lake Thursday afternoon. The game is scheduled to begin at approximately 1pm. Duluth East is making their 18th appearance at the state tourney. The Greyhounds are (22-5), while White Bear Lake is (21-5-2).

In Class A, Hermantown was awarded the #2 seed after the Hawks shutout Rogers 5-0 in Friday night's Section 5A final. Hermantown (23-3-2) will play the very first game of the tournament, against Alexandria (12-15-1). The puck drops at 11am Wednesday morning.

Hibbing-Chisholm (17-9-2) is unseeded, and will battle Rochester Lourdes (24-3-1) Wednesday afternoon, scheduled to begin at 1pm. Should Hermantown and Hibbing-Chisholm both win on Wednesday, the two teams would meet in Friday's semifinal.
