Hayward, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- The Hayward football team has won only four games in the past three seasons, but new head coach and Superior, Wis. native Brian Trettin says his older players seem poised to turn that record around this fall.

"I've asked them to really step up, and they've really responded," Trettin said of his seniors. "They're hungry, and I think when you talk about how to turn a program around --- your seniors have to be the ones to get things turned around. I'm really proud of them."

Hayward will open the 2014 season at home on Aug. 22 against Amery, with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
