Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- An approximately $4 million proposed athletic facility is nearing the final stages of approval by the Superior School Board, with a final vote set for Oct. 15 at the organization's regularly scheduled meeting.

The proposal includes a turf stadium field to be used for both football and soccer, space for track and field and cross country events, and a turf baseball field.

Right now the football team plays its games at Ole Haugsrud Field, the soccer teams play across the street from the high school, and the baseball and softball teams play across town at Morie Arnovich Field.

Should the project be given final approval on Oct. 15, officials hope groundbreaking will occur sometime in the spring and the facility will be ready to open for the fall season of the 2014-15 athletic year.
