St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW) --- Despite a shortened track season because of lingering snow, Northlanders had one more chance to make their mark at the Minnesota State High School Track and Field championships at Hamline University on Saturday.
The Esko girls' team had several team vying for a title on the final day of competition. The Eskomos 4 X 800 relay and 4 X 400 relay both finished in fourth place while their 4 X 200 relay took home the bronze.
In the 100 meter hurdles, International Falls' Madeline Fluharty finished in sixth while her teammate Hailey Fentem followed in seventh place.
On the boys side, Matt Welch of Proctor was fourth in the mile, and the Rails 4 X 100 relay came in sixth place. Riley Mudek of Esko was the fourth to finish in the 400 meter run.
In the 110 meter hurdles, Paul Meloche of Mesabi East went home with the bronze with a time of 15.72.
