Polar Bears Drop Heartbreaker at State

Jordan, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The New York Mills Eagles scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning on Thursday afternoon to walk off with a 6-5 win over Floodwood in the quarterfinals of the MSHSL Class A tournament at the Mini Met in Jordan, Minn.

Jarred Heggedahl went without a hit in the game for the Polar Bears, but he did drive in two runs with a sacrifice bunt and a fielders' choice. Both Rile Bernsdorf and Trevor Bernsdorf finished with two hits and a run batted in for Floodwood in the loss.

Floodwood is now (17-3) overall this season and will move to the Class A consolation semifinals, with the team's next game set for 12:30 p.m. on June 14 at Chaska Athletic Park in Chaska, Minn.
