Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Duluth Denfeld Hunters will still play home games at Public Schools Stadium moving forward, but it will be as if the team's have a whole new home to call theirs starting in the 2013-14 athletic year.
Work is well underway to replace the turf at the stadium, with the old surface having been torn up late last week and that same crew this week leveling the field area so new turf can be laid down.
Head football coach Frank Huie said he expects the new turf to be comparable to that of the fields at Duluth East High School and Lincoln Park Middle School.
Huie predicted that work would be done at the stadium sometime next week, and workers at the site this week agreed with that timeline.
Attempts to reach Duluth Public Schools facilities management manager Kerry Leider on Friday afternoon were unsuccessful, but NNCNOW.com hopes to speak to him Monday about the exact reasons for replacing the turf and the cost of the project.
