Proctor, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Proctor football team received an all-school sendoff on Friday afternoon before departing for the Metrodome and the Class AAA state semi-finals, marking the Rails first ever berth to the semis.

With cheerleaders, band, and a video slideshow, the Proctor gym was a packed house. The Rails will face off against St. Croix Lutheran on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m.

For head coach Derek Parendo and the rest of the team, Saturday's game is all about playing Proctor-style football.

"They're going to be powerhouses, but we're not going to change course now," said Parendo. "We're going to do what we do and see how far we can go."

"I didn't even think coming into last year that I'd even being a starter, and I ended up starting last year," said senior quarterback Brodie Nordquist. "I didn't think we'd come through the section championship and now we're at the Dome. It's just an amazing feeling."
