Proctor, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The Proctor baseball team is preparing this week for its first-round game in the MSHSL Class AA state tournament, marking the team's second straight state appearance.

The Rails won the Section 7AA championship for the second consecutive season, this year beating Cloquet 9-2 in the title game.

Before these two consecutive trips, the Proctor baseball team's most recent trip to state was in 1976.

The Rails drew unbeaten Minneapolis Washburn as a first-round opponent, with that game set for 3:00 p.m. in St. Cloud.
