Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- The Superior girls' basketball team is making its second straight trip to the WIAA Division 1 tournament this week, and the players hope that will help people to stand up and take notice of Spartans basketball.

"No one ever expected it. They knew we had the talent, but I don't think they knew we were going to go all the way to state," Superior senior Jessica Lindstrom said. "Going there twice just validates that we're a good team, and we want to show something of our ability. That's awesome."

Superior will play Mukwonago, the 2013 runner-up, in the semifinal round on Friday at 8:15 p.m. at the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wis.
