Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Four teams from the Northland remain in the Section 7A and 7AA softball brackets, and will play for two state tournament berths on Thursday.

#1 seed Cherry-Cotton and #2 seed Carlton will meet in the Section 7A finals, scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Thursday at Braun Park in Cloquet.

The tournament is double elimination, so Carlton will need to beat Cherry-Cotton twice to advance to the state tournament. Cherry-Cotton only needs one win to advance.

In Section 7AA, the two #1 seeds, Hermantown and Cloquet, made their way to the finals, which will be played at a site to be determined.

Because of the double elimination format, Cloquet needs two wins to advance while Hermantown only needs one.
