South Ridge Beats Nevis, Into 9-Man State Semis

St. Cloud, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The South Ridge football team rallied from a 12-point second half deficit to defeat Nevis 24-18 on Friday night, advancing to the MSHSL 9-Man state semifinals.

Bill Redding scored two touchdowns and Kody Karppinen scored the other in the winning effort, with Robby McQuade adding three interceptions on the defensive side.

This is the program's first-ever trip to the MSHSL state tournament, coming one year after the Panthers posted a (1-7) record in the team's inaugural season.

South Ridge is now (11-1) this season and will next be in action at 9:00 a.m. on November 16 at Mall of America Field for the state semifinals.
