LaCrosse, WI (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Superior Spartans Shane Holmes and Raya Kosey were both at the WIAA state track and field meet for the second time in as many years this weekend.
Holmes, a senior at Superior, was competing in the 1600 meter run. He finished 14th overall on Saturday with a time of 4:22.
Kosey, a Spartan junior, was competing in two events at the state meet - the 400 meter dash and the long jump.
She finished with a time of 59.84 seconds in the preliminary round for the 400, but failed to qualify for the finals.
In the long jump, Kosey leaped 14 feet, 10.25 inches to finish 22nd among Division I girls.
