Superior, WI (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Superior Spartans junior cross country runner Leah Holmes has advanced to the WIAA state meet for the third consecutive year, qualifying with a third place finish at Saturday's sectional race.

Last year, Holmes became the first girl from Superior high school to qualify for two consecutive state cross country meets, and will now add to that record.

The state meet is this Saturday, October 29, in Wisconsin Rapids, and there will be a send-off for Holmes on Wednesday morning at Superior high school.
