St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- St. Paul's Holman Field will be the site for the ninth annual Hockey Day Minnesota on Jan. 17, officials from the Minnesota Wild along with FOX Sports North and Minnesota Hockey announced on Friday morning.
The day will feature three high school games starting with St. Paul Johnson vs. Luverne, St Thomas Academy vs. Hill-Murray and finishing with the girls' game between Cretin-Derham Hall and the Duluth Northern Stars.
Hockey Day Minnesota will be capped off as the Minnesota Wild host the Arizona Coyotes at 8:00 p.m. at the Xcel Energy Center.
For the Northern Stars and head coach Cory Stafne, it's a secret that he's known about for six weeks. A week ago, he told his team via text before the announcement was made public Friday.
Stafne and his girls know it's going to be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
