Superior Shutout in WIAA Quarterfinal Game

Madison, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- The Superior boys' hockey team outshot Verona 24-15 in Thursday's WIAA quarterfinal game, but the Spartans were blanked on the scoreboard and lost 3-0 at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wis.

Phillipe Fromberger scored what would be the game-winning goal midway though the first period, with Charlie Parker and Brogan Baker each adding a goal in the second period for the Wildcats.

Paxton Paine took the loss in goal for the Spartans while making 12 saves, while Alex Jones earned the shutout win in making 24 saves for Verona.

Superior ends the season with an overall record of (14-12-1).
