St. Paul, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The Grand Rapids baseball team led for most of Friday evening's MSHSL Class AAA semifinal game against Eastview, but in the end the Thunderhawks lost by a 5-3 final score.

Jake Bischoff, Hunter Shepard, and Billy Hammann all knocked in a run during the bottom half of the first inning to give Grand Rapids a 3-2 lead, but from there it was all Eastview.

The Lightning scored two runs in the sixth inning and added another in the seventh to advance to the Class AAA championship game on Monday.

Grand Rapids, meanwhile, drops to (20-7) this season with the loss and will take on Eden Prairie in the Class AAA third place game, with that game set for 12:30 p.m. on Saturday in St. Paul.
