Tigers Beat Bulldogs, Earn Third Straight State Trip

Cohasset, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The Cherry softball team stayed unbeaten on Thursday afternoon, beating Carlton 3-1 to win the Section 7A championship and advance to the MSHSL Class A state tournament.

The Tigers are now (23-0) this year and off to a third consecutive state tournament, where the team finished as Class A runners-up a year ago.

Cherry will open play at state on June 7 against the champion of Section 3A, with that game set for 1:00 p.m. at Caswell Park in Mankato.
