Minneapolis, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Duluth Marshall's Eric Miklausich won the MSHSL Class A triple jump title on Friday afternoon, posting a mark of 44 feet, 10.25 inches.
Miklausich becomes the second Northland athlete to win the event in as many years, following 2011 champion Caleb Hamp-Sill of Two Harbors.
Proctor's Matt Welch, meanwhile, finished Friday as the MSHSL Class A runner-up in the 3,200-meter run, posting a time of 9:23.44.
Finals of most events at the MSHSL Class A and AA state track and field meet for both the boys and the girls will be held on Saturday at Hamline University.
