Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) -- Busy Tuesday night of high school hockey playoffs across the Northland.
In Superior, the Spartans have advanced to the section semifinals after they took on New Richmond.
The winner advances to the section final on Friday in Menominee.
Superior took the win 4-1 over New Richmond.
The Duluth East Greyhounds are the defending section champs in Section 7AA.
The Hounds hosted St. Michael-Albertville at the Hertiage Sports Center Tuesday.
Ryan Lundgren scored about two minutes in to give the Hounds a 1-0 lead, his 18th of the year.
He had a hat trick against St.Michael just ten ago in the regular season.
Duluth East won 15-0.
In some of the other playoff games Tuesday night, Cloquet-Esko-Carlton took the 6-2 win over Forest Lake.
Grand Rapids also comes out with the win over St. Francis 6-2.
Ely and Greenway in the play-in game, to face Denfeld on Thursday.
Raiders won 14-1.
Steve Rodberg and the Proctor Rails hosted Pine City.
Rails won 7-2 in their first playoff win over Head Coach Steve Rodberg, the former Bulldog and Yellowjackets hockey player.
On Wednesday, the girls state tournament takes over the Xcel Energy Center.
Games in Class A begin.
It will be the 10th trip to state for the Hibbing-Chisholm girls hockey team.
The Bluejackets earned the #5 seed, and will take on the 4th seed, South St. Paul Packers.
That game will be played at 8pm at the X in St.Paul.
The Bluejackets are 18-9 on the year and will be making their 9th trip to the state tournament.
The Packers beat the Bluejackets earlier this year in overtime, 4-3.
Hibbing-Chisholm is ranked 12th in the state and the Packers 7th.
