Two Locals Will Play at Nat'l Invite Tourney

(NNCNOW.com) --- Grand Rapids senior goaltender Hunter Shepard and Cloquet-Esko-Carlton senior defenseman Jade Alvilla have been selected to play in the 2014 CCM High School National Invitational Tournament, which will run April 24-27 in Plymouth, Minn.

Shepard, a 2014 Frank Brimsek Award finalist, will be a member of Minnesota's senior boys' team after he posted an overall record of (18-9-0) this season with a 2.64 goals against average.

Alvilla, meanwhile, will play for the Minnesota girls' senior team after she totaled seven goals and six assists for the Lumberjacks this past winter.

The tournament will feature teams from Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, Michigan, and Massachusetts and is designed as a recruiting hotbed for scouts from the NHL, NCAA, and various junior leagues.
