Cohasset, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The Cherry softball team won twice on Tuesday afternoon to move to (22-0) this season and into the Section 7A championship game, where they will face the Carlton Bulldogs.
The Tigers beat Silver Bay 8-5 in the first contest of the day and then defeated Carlton 4-1 to advance to the Section 7A title game.
The Bulldogs, meanwhile, first beat South Ridge 8-5 before losing to Cherry, and then the team defeated Silver Bay 12-4 to advance in the double-elimination tournament.
The Bulldogs will need to beat Cherry twice on May 31 in order to claim the section crown, while Cherry will only require one win to earn a trip to the Class A state tournament.
Below are listed all results from Tuesday in the Section 7A bracket, which enters a double-elimination format for the final four teams.
