(NNCNOW.com) ---- Superior opened up its new athletic facility to headline Friday's action on a wet and rainy opener for many Minnesota teams as Cloquet got past Esko for the second year in a row in high school football.
The Spartans debuted in their nearly $5 million athletics facility in grand style with nearly 1,000 fans on hand. On the field, they took care of business blowing past Merrill, 31-7 to move to (1-1).
In Esko, the Lumberjacks jumped out to a 21-0 lead at the break before beating the Eskomos 30-8.
