Viren, Thunderhawks Preparing for State Swim Meet

Grand Rapids, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The Grand Rapids Thunderhawks are set to open the MSHSL Class A swimming and diving meet on Thursday, less than a week after capturing the Section 7A championship.

Thunderhawks sophomore Solveig Viren won individual section titles in the 50 and 100 freestyle races, twice setting a new section record in the 50.

Viren was a top-five finisher at the state meet in both those events a year ago as a freshman, and will also be a part of two Grand Rapids relays at this year's state meet.
