Virginia Doubles Pair into State Semifinals

Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Virginia senior Joey Skaudis and junior Tom Prittinen have advanced to the semifinals of the MSHSL Class A boys' tennis doubles bracket, that after the pair won two matches on Thursday at the Read-Sweatt Tennis Center in Minneapolis, Minn.

Skaudis and Prittinen first beat Hadi Berbari and Aneesh Ramamoorthy of Rochester Lourdes 6-4, 6-1 in the first round before then defeating Connor Olson and John Foss of St. James 6-1, 6-0 in the quarterfinals.

The Blue Devils pair will now wait until Friday morning to play in the semifinal round, with that match against Jake Duxbury and Austin Wong of Breck scheduled for 8:00 a.m. at the Read-Sweatt Tennis Center.

Hibbing freshmen Scott Perunovich and Jake Jolowsky were also competing Thursday in the Class A doubles bracket, falling 6-4, 6-7 (6), 6-3 to Matt Huber and Zeke Haugen of St. Peter.

In the Class A singles bracket, Duluth Marshall junior Jack Dodd fell in the first round as well, losing 6-0, 6-2 to Ty Misialek of East Grand Forks.
