  Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- The Superior boys' and girls' basketball teams each earned home victories on Tuesday night, with the Spartans sweeping the night and the season series against their Twin Ports rival Duluth East.

• McKinzie, Hilltoppers Win On Senior Night

  Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Senior forward Kris McKinzie scored three goals on Tuesday night as the #13-ranked Duluth Marshall boys' hockey team beat Greenway-Nashwauk-Keewatin 11-0 at Mars Lakeview Arena.

• Two Spartans Advance to State Swim & Dive Meet

  Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- Two Superior athletes have advanced to the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) swimming and diving meet after their performances Saturday at the Division 1 sectional meet in Hudson, Wis.

• C-E-C, Duluth Fall in Section 7AA Semifinals

  (NNCNOW.com) --- There will not be a Northland representative in this season's Section 7AA girls' hockey championship, with each of the area teams falling Saturday afternoon in the semifinal round.

• #9 Hunters Hold Off #5 Spartans in Bridge Battle

  Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The #9-ranked Duluth Denfeld boys' hockey team held off #9-ranked Superior on Friday night, with the Hunters earning a hard-fought 5-4 victory at the Heritage Sports Center.

• Proctor's Welch Commits to Division I UofM

  Proctor, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Proctor senior runner Matt Welch signed his national letter of intent on Friday afternoon to run Division I cross country for the University of Minnesota, where he was also compete in indoor and outdoor track and field.

• RESULTS: Section 7A and 7AA Girls' Hockey

  (NNCNOW.com) --- Several area girls' hockey teams were in action Tuesday night for the quarterfinal round of the section playoffs, with teams from the Northland competing in both Section 7A and Section 7AA contests.

• Ely, Duluth East Win Section 7 XC Ski Titles

  Biwabik, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Ely boys' cross country ski team and the Duluth East girls' ski team each won Section 7 team championships on Thursday afternoon at Giant's Ridge, advancing to the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) state meet.
