• Lumberjacks' Kuhlman to Play in Russia

  Esko, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Esko, Minn. native and Cloquet-Esko-Carlton junior forward Karson Kuhlman will get the chance to play in Omsk, Russia later this summer with the Dubuque Fighting Saints of the United States Hockey League (USHL).

• 'Hounds Fall to Anoka, Still Alive in Tourney

  Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Duluth East softball team started Saturday off by upsetting second-seeded Duluth Denfeld, and then won in an elimination game, 6-3. to beat St. Francis in advance in the Section 7AAA softball tournament at Wheeler Field.

• Hunters Eliminated in 7AAA Softball Tournament

  Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Denfeld softball team entered the day as the second seed in the 7AAA playoffs but lost two straight games to be eliminated from the tournament on Saturday afternoon.

• Hunters Rally, Deny Spartans LSC Crown

  Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Superior baseball team had a chance to clinch the Lake Superior Conference (LSC) championship on Friday night, but a late-inning rally from Duluth Denfeld took away the title hopes of the Spartans.

• Oredockers Spoil SHS Senior Day with Win

  Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- The Ashland girls' soccer team scored three goals in the second half on Friday afternoon, en route to a 5-1 win over Superior on the same day the Spartans honored the program's seniors and their parents.

• Hermantown, Mora in 7AA Winners Bracket

  Cloquet, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Hermantown and Mora softball teams both advanced to the winners bracket final on Thursday afternoon in the Section 7AA softball tournament played at Braun Park in Cloquet, Minn.

• Greyhounds Top T'Hawks in 7AAA Playoffs

  Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Duluth East softball team put aside the bad weather and came away with an 8-3 win over Grand Rapids at Ordean East Middle School in the first round of the Section 7AAA playoffs.

• Northwestern's Nelson Hoping for Three-Peat

  Maple, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- No one said Tess Nelson's quest for a third straight title would be easy. The Northwestern senior was disqualified in the subsections on Monday from the 300-meter hurdles after officials ruled she false started.

• Duluth's Toninato on All-USHL Second Team

  Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Duluth, Minn. native and University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) commit Dominic Toninato has been named to the all-United States Hockey League (USHL) second team, the league announced on Wednesday afternoon.

• 'Hounds Hire Smingler as Volleyball Coach

  Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Samantha Smingler has been named the new head volleyball coach at Duluth East, it was announced on Wednesday afternoon by the school's athletics director Shawn Roed.
