Anderson waived by Sun

By KBJR News 1

Port Wing native Jolene Anderson was waived by the Connecticut Sun, Wednesday. She was a second round draft pick by the team this year.
Svetlana Abrosimova, who helped lead UConn to a national title
in 2000, signed a free agent contract wednesday, with first-place Connecticut.
To make room for Abrosimova, the Sun waived rookie guard Jolene
Anderson, who played in 24 games this season and averaged four points.
The former Badger made 7 starts for the Sun and also averaged 2 rebounds per game.
Abrosimova played 7 years with the Minnesota Lynx and won a bronze medal with Russia at the Beijing Olympics.
