Brewers Avoid the Sweep, Beat Diamondbacks

Phoenix, AZ (NNCNOW.com) --- The Milwaukee Brewers ended a four-game losing streak and avoided the series sweep by beating the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-1 on Sunday afternoon.

Wily Peralta pitched seven strong innings for Milwaukee, giving up just one earned run on seven hits while striking out eight.

Carlos Gomez and Logan Schafer each had two RBIs to lead the Brewers, and Martin Maldonado also knocked in a run.

Milwaukee (38-56) will resume action on Friday when they host the Marlins at 7:10 p.m.
