Milwaukee, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- Even without Ryan Braun, the Milwaukee Brewers used a big sixth inning to power past the Washington Nationals 8-5 on Sunday afternoon and avoid the series sweep at Miller Park.

Jeff Bianchi hit a bloop single that got past the drawn-in infield and scored two runs to put the Brewers on top 6-4. Juan Francisco added two RBIs for Milwaukee.

Carlos Gomez, Khris Davis, and Jonathan Lucroy all knocked in a run for the Brewers.

Kyle Lohse pitched five innings for the Brewers, giving up three runs on five hits while striking out two.

Milwaukee (47-64) travels to San Francisco to take on the Giants on Monday at 9:15 p.m.
