Milwaukee, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- The Milwaukee Brewers have signed pitcher Matt Garza to a four-year contract worth $52 million, that according to a report on Thursday by Ken Rosenthal of the MLB Network.
The 30-year-old Garza started last season with the Chicago Cubs before being traded in July to the Texas Rangers. Over eight years in the big leagues, he owns a (67-67) record with a 3.84 earned run average.
The right-hander was a first-round pick of the Minnesota Twins in the 2005 First-Year Player Draft, and he was promoted to the big leagues in the following year. He becomes the fourth pitcher in Milwaukee franchise history to sign a contract of at least four years.
The deal has not yet been confirmed by the Brewers and is pending a physical.
