Milwaukee, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- The Brewers tied the game up in the eighth inning thanks to a bunt single from Norichika Aoki, but Jon Jay was the hero for St. Louis in the ninth, driving in the go-ahead and lifting the Cardinals over the Brewers, 7-6.
The Brewers jumped out to a fast start with a two-run homer by Jean Segura in the bottom of the first. The Cardinals answered with a three-run home run by Jon Jay in the second.
It was a back-and-forth battle with three different lead changes in the middle innings. But it was Jay who put St. Louis up for good in the final inning.
Milwaukee (14-15) looks to avoid the four-game series sweep against St. Louis (19-11) in the finale on Sunday at 1:10 p.m.
