Chicago, IL (NNCNOW.com) --- Despite an hour plus rain delay, Edwin Jackson pitched eight strong innings for the Cubs and David DeJesus drove in three runs as Chicago avoided the sweep 6-1 against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Anthony Rizzo belted a two-run blast to lead Chicago and Starlin Castro added a solo home run of his own.

Jonathan Lucroy pounded two doubles for the Brewers while Jeff Bianchi and Caleb Gindl posted two hits a piece.

Milwaukee starter Wily Peralta (7-11) allowed four runs on five hits in five innings.

The Brewers (46-62) have Thursday off before they return home to host the Nationals on Friday night at 7:10 p.m.
