ESPN: Braun Not Answering PED Questions

July 9, 2013 Updated Jul 9, 2013 at 8:07 PM CDT

Milwaukee, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- Milwaukee outfielder Ryan Braun refused to answer questions in a June 29 meeting with Major League Baseball (MLB) officials about his alleged involvement with the Biogenesis lab in Miami, Fla., that according to sources cited by ESPN's "Outside the Lines."

Braun is one of as many as 20 players alleged to have accepted performance-enhancing drugs (PED) from Biogenesis owner Tony Bosch.

The ESPN "Outside the Lines" sources say 10 players have met with league officials and refused to answer questions, but that group does not yet include New York infielder Alex Rodriguez.

Braun and Rodriguez, and possibly others, are reportedly facing 100-game suspensions for their alleged involvement with Bosch and his Biogenesis lab, even though both would be first-time offenders under the MLB PED policy.

A decision from MLB commissioner Bud Selig on the suspensions is expected to come shortly after next week's All-Star break.
