April 3, 2013 Updated Apr 3, 2013 at 9:30 PM CDT

Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Eduardo Escobar hit a double in the bottom of the ninth inning with two on and one out on Wednesday night, scoring Jamey Carroll and Brian Dozier to give the Minnesota Twins a 3-2 win over the Detroit Tigers.

It was Escobar's only plate appearance of the game, with the win marking Minnesota's first of this 2013 season.

Kevin Correia was tabbed with a no-decision on the hill, going seven innings while allowing two earned runs on seven hits and striking out two.

Glen Perkins gets credit for the win, having worked a scoreless ninth inning ahead of Escobar's heroics in the bottom half.

Minnesota is now (1-1) overall this 2013 season and will next be in action at 12:10 p.m. on April 4 against Detroit.
