Ex-'Dog Brown Scores First NHL Goal

Glendale, AZ (NNCNOW.com) --- Former University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) forward J.T. Brown scored his first NHL goal with the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday night in a 6-3 loss on the road against the Phoenix Coyotes.

The 23-year old spent the beginning of the season with the AHL's Syracuse Crunch before being called up to the Lightning on Thursday. Brown spent all of last season with the Crunch and racked up 10 goals and 18 assists in 51 games.

Brown spent two seasons with UMD, tallying 40 goals and 44 assists while also being an integral part of the 2011 NCAA Division I championship team.
