Sunrise, FL (NNCNOW.com) --- Former University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) goaltender Alex Stalock made 24 saves for his first career NHL shutout as his San Jose Sharks ousted the Florida Panthers 3-0 on Thursday night.

Stalock made his 10th appearance of the 2013-14 season and didn't allow a goal for the first time in his professional career.

Joe Thornton, Matt Nieto, and Joe Pavelski were the goal scorers for the Sharks.

While with UMD, Stalock led the Bulldogs to a WCHA Final Five tournament title and NCAA tournament appearance in 2009. He also still holds school records in both saves percentage and goals against average.
