Winnipeg, Manitoba (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Former UMD Bulldog J.T. Brown recorded his first-ever NHL point on Saturday night in Tampa Bay's 4-3 overtime win over Winnipeg.

Brown was credited with the secondary assist on a second period goal by Teddy Purcell, putting Brown on the scoresheet for the first time in his professional career.

The Burnsville native took 20 shifts for nearly 14 minutes of ice time in his fifth game with the Lightning, the team he signed with following his sophomore season with UMD.

Tampa Bay was (3-2) in the five games Brown skated in this season, with two of the wins coming over the Jets.

Winnipeg also has a former Bulldog on its roster in forward Tim Stapleton, who took 18 shifts for nearly 12 minutes of ice time on Saturday night.
