East Rutherford, NJ (NNCNOW.com) --- Josh Freeman's debut as quarterback of the Minnesota Vikings was underwhelming on nearly every level on Monday night as the New York Giants got that team's first win of 2013 with a 23-7 scoreline.
Freeman completed 20-of-53 passes for 190 yards in the contest, throwing no touchdowns and one interception. Many of his throws were too high for his receivers, but there were also a handful of drops in the game.
Adrian Peterson was no help in the running game for Minnesota, finishing with 13 carries for just 28 yards and no touchdowns.
The lone score of the game for the Vikings came from former Minnesota Golden Gopher Marcus Sherels, who returned a punt 86 yards in the first quarter to give his team a 7-3 lead at that point in the game.
Minnesota is now (1-5) this season and will next be in action on Oct. 27 at home against Green Bay, with that game set to be shown on KBJR6 and Range11.
